Unmarried Actresses in Bollywood
Love, heartbreaks, family issues are
part of our lives and this had not left our Bollywood celebrities too. I
know its a very very long article but i really don't want to make two
articles of same topic. Moreover its interesting to read your comments
in the one topic itself. So here is a list of unmarried actresses who
had relationships but never got hitched with anyone till now.
SURAIYA: She was the popular
actress and singer of 40's and 50's. She was romantically involved with
Dev Anand and wanted to marry him but her family was against this
relationship. Her family didn't let her marry Dev Anand and she never
forgave her family for this decision. It is a well-known fact that when
Suraiya's mother got sick, Suraiya never took care of her. Suraiya's mom
died in charity hospital in miserable condition, but she didn't even
spend a penny on her Mom's treatment. From this incident, you can
imagine Suraiya fire of hatred and revenge for her family. Suraiya
remained unmarried all her life.
CUCKOO MORAY: She was an
anglo-indian dancer and actress in indian cinema. Cukoo was the queen of
film dancing in Hindi cinema of the 1940s and 1950s. Though unfamiliar
name, she was known as the "rubber girl" of Hindi cinema and her talent
made cabaret dancing a must in the Bollywood films during the 1940s and
1950s. It has been recently confirmed that Cuckoo's real name was Cuckoo
Moray. Cukoo remained the best dancer in Hindi films until dancers like
Helen and Vyjaythimala came along in the industry. Cukoo was a family
friend of the anglo-burmese dancer and actress Helen. She was also known
for helping unknown actors get their break in Bollywood like Pran in
Ziddi. Cukoo had introduced a 13-year-old Helen into films as a chorus
dancer in the films. Cukoo died on September 30, 1981 at the age of 53.
She was forgotten and unattended by the film industry at the time of her
death. There is no evidence that she got married ever or has a family.
ASHA PAREKH: She was one
of the top stars in Hindi films from 1959 to 1973. Asha has remained
unmarried, claiming that her reputation of being unapproachable made
people hesitate in asking for her hand in marriage. There were rumors
that she was romantically involved with her married director Nasir
Hussain. In her later years, Asha said that she had a longtime boyfriend
but declined to elaborate on the relationship, only stating "it was
nice while it lasted."
NANDA: She was one of the top
actresses in the late 50's and 60's. In 1965, when she was filming Jab
Jab Phool Khile, director Suraj Prakash recalled that a very handsome
Maharashtrian lieutenant colonel was smitten by Nanda and had asked him
to forward his marriage proposal to her mother. In the end, nothing came
of it. Nanda's brothers also brought home many suitors for her, but she
turned them down. She was engaged to Manmohan Desai in 1992 when
insisted by best friend Waheeda Rehman but unfortunately he died in an
accident. Then she remained unmarried all her life.
SULAKSHNA PANDIT: She was
a filmfare award winning playback singer and actress. Sulakshana's
career as heroine spanned the 1970s and early '80s. Her uncle is the
accomplished classical vocalist Pandit Jasraj. During this period she
acted with many top actors, directors and producers. Sulakshana has
never been married. She fell in love with actor Sanjeev Kumar but the
Sanjeev turned down her marriage proposal as he was in deep shock after
Hema Malini rejected his marriage proposal in order to marry Dharmendra.
After this rejection, Sulakshna was never the same and became mentally
and psychologically ill. She rapidly lost touch with reality.
PARVEEN BABI: She was one
of the top glamorous actresses of late 70's and 80's. She is often
cited as one of the most beautiful actresses to have ever appeared in
Indian cinema. Parveen never married but had relationships with many
married men and also rumored to have had an affair with her co-star of
many films, Amitabh Bachchan with whom she later developed irrational
fears as she accused him of trying to kill her.
ANU AGGARWAL: She made
her debut with blockbuster "Aashiqui" with Rahul Roy. She met a fatal
accident which destryed her face. She never made up her mark as a
successful actress in Bollywood. She is still unmarried.
NAGMA. She was one of the top
actresses of South and also did some hit films in Bollywood with top
actors. She never married. She was rumored to have a relationship with
Saurav Ganguly but later they broke up.
DIVYA DUTTA: She is a talented actress of Bollywood but never in the main league. She is still unmarried.
TABU: She one of the best
actresses we have today. Tabu is best known for acting in artistic,
low-budget films that go on to garner more critical appreciation than
substantial box office figures. She was popular in late 90's-2000. She
was once engaged to Sajid Nadiawala but they broke up as she got
attracted to south superstar Nagarjuna. Tabu is still unmarried.
URMILA MATODKAR: This
beautiful actress is known for her sexy image and versatile roles. She
had an relationship with Ram Gopal Verma who casted her in most of his
films. But they broke up. She never got married or intention to marry in
future.
EKTA KAPOOR. Though she
is not a Bollywood Actress but she directed many successful movies and
tv serials. She is a daughter of veteran actor Jeetendra. She is still
unmarried.
SUSHMITA SEN: This beauty
queen has many relationships before and after winning Miss Universe but
she never got hitched with anyone. She adopted two daughters and living
with them peacefully.
RANI MUKERJI: She was
considered as the most successful actress of Bollywood. She acted with
top actors, directors and producers. She had delivered so many
blockbuster movies. She is still unmarried but rumored to have
relationship with Aditya Chopra.
PREITY ZINTA: She was known for
her bubbly nature and dimpled smile. This beautiful actress has many
